At an altitude of about 2500 feet, it enjoys all four seasons. Spring and fall temperatures are generally moderate: lows in the 30-40s, highs in the 60-70s. Temperature extremes range from summer highs of over 100 degrees, to winter lows in the sub-zeros. Annual precipitation is about 20 inches, and snowfall is usually between 6 and 36 inches. Gardeners enjoy the growing season, which begins with the last spring frost around May 10th, to the first fall frost around September 15th. The Midvale area supports a number of ranches and small farms, whose primary products are cattle, hay, corn and silage.
